Paranormal State

First of all I would like to thank my sister Ixamara because if it wasn't for her, I would of never known Paranormal State even existed. I remember being in the living room and she suddenly came to me and told me about the show and that is was on. So I turned on the T.V and changed it to the A&E channel.  I saw a tall young handsome man by the name of Ryan Buell and his PRS team. I also remember seeing a priest holding a Holy Bible in one hand and holy water in the other hand.

I really enjoyed seeing young adults such as myself, helping strangers. I thought that was amazing because I rarely see that everyday. I truly believe that Ryan and PRS are role models to everyone especially teens and young adults. Not only are they helping people but they are also giving out a good example and giving faith to people who need it the most. What also caught my attention was the priest. Why? Well I grew up in a Catholic household and till this day I am proud to say that I am still Catholic and always will be and I say this because of the experiences I had throughout my life. So back to the priest. He was blessing a home that was haunted by a dark entity.

I am going to be honest and I have to admit that before becoming a fan of Paranormal State I was interested in a show called Ghost Hunters. I thought it was so cool that people would visit haunted places and take special equipment that would help them find some sort of evidence of the paranormal. In this case that's what Ghost Hunters is all about. Evidence. On the other hand, Paranormal State is more than just finding evidence. It's about helping those who are suffering from something they can't explain. It's about trying to understand the paranormal and trying to get closer to the truth. The truth as to why more and more people are having paranormal experiences.

Another reason as to why this show was even made is all because of Ryan Buell, a former college student at penn state. He founded a group called the Paranormal Research Society and that's where they started getting phone calls from people who were being haunted by something they couldn't explain. Producers then approached Ryan to an opportunity of a lifetime. After that, Paranormal State was born. And why was Ryan so passionate about the paranormal? Well he shares his story about how at a very young age he was tormented by a demon. He doesn't give all the details which is very understandable but he says that he wanted to look for answers and wanted to learn more about what he had experienced.

Even though Ryan is Catholic I like the fact that he respects other religions as well. Seeing Native American rituals, paganism, and the use of a Ouiji board was very interesting. Seeing house blessings and exorcisms were also interesting but also more personal to me. As I saw the priest recite a powerful prayer and sprinkle holy water around the house I thought to myself, this is what people need to see because it's real and it happens everyday. It is very frightening to think that families around the world are being torn apart by a dark force. I know that there are people who don't believe in the paranormal and I completely respect their opinions. But my opinion is that I do believe. I highly recommend everyone to watch this show. If you believe or not, it doesn't matter. Unfortunately they just finished their last season and they will not  be filming anymore. Ryan did say he had more projects coming up soon. So stay tuned! He is also doing the American Ghost Hunter tour. American Ghost Hunter is an independent film directed by Chad Calek and  Executive produced by the one and only Ryan Buell. If I ever get the chance to meet the PRS team I would thank them for sacraficing their time and energy in helping others. Let them know how amazing they are and how we need more people like them in this world. Because now a days it is very rare to see people help each other. The reason why we live in a sad and cruel world is because of something we can't see. There are dark forces roaming on this earth. It never sleeps until it destroys people, families, and relationships. It is a war every single day and we don't even notice. A war between good and evil.

My personal photography

Photography to me, is to be able to capture a special memory and freeze it in time. To look at something simple, take a picture of it and transform it into something beautiful. To express myself and let others see the world through me eyes. It's like that saying, "A picture's worth a thousand words." Well I think it's worth more than a thousand words. I began having an interest in photography ever since High School.

I remember talking to my counselor and asking him if there were any good photography classes in El Camino College. At that time, I wanted to major in photography. But once I started going to college, my plans changed. Don't get me wrong, I still love photography and I can't live without it. I always take my camera everywhere I go and I always want to take a picture of someone or something.

Even though I'm majoring in another subject, photography is still and always will be a favorite hobby of mine. I don't have a fancy camera or anything like that but I do have a Panasonic digital camera which takes really good pictures. My dream is to one day own a professional camera, travel around the world and take amazing pictures.  I want to share some of my pictures. I took them from my backyard. My dad planted a lot of trees and as you can see by the flowers that it was spring time. Spring is one of my favorite seasons! Gives me a good excuse to use my camera.
